DJ Jenny Z

Radio personality Jenny Z has been providing professional disc jockey services since 1998. A public speaker for most of her life, Jenny is very comfortable speaking in front of a crowd and has been the professional emcee for sporting events, talent shows, business meetings, and trade shows.   When it comes to mobile dj work, her style is not one to be over the top. Jenny likes to let the music do majority of the entertaining! But as you know, charisma is important too.

A mother of three children, the majority of her non-family time is devoted to her clients. However, on occasion you can find her on helping out on the air at 103.7 WXCY. Jenny has been all over the radio dial in major cities like Baltimore and Philadelphia. Her resume includes working in formats such as Top 40, Country, Easy Listening, Oldies, Classic Country, Rock, Talk Radio and Traffic Reporting.

DJ Boomer

Enjoy the dulcet tones of Australian DJ Boomer as he helps your next party come alive. A member of the Jenny Z Mobile DJ staff since 2009, he has ample experience at making your event flow smoothly from one memorable moment to the next. DJ Boomer is a Certified Public Speaker who traveled the United States delivering seminars and motivational speeches. Now a rather charming disc jockey, he’s known for making clients feel comfortable, answering all of their questions, and making them feel at ease. In addition, he knows what songs get people dancing! How we assist with your wedding ceremony

When we are a part of your wedding ceremony there will be dedicated sound system at the ceremony site. Included for use will be up to 2 wireless microphones, a microphone stand, personalized prelude (20 minutes prior to ceremony start) and postlude music, candle lighting and/or sand ceremony music, and processional and recessional music. 

You will also receive coordination assistance with starting the ceremony, the wedding processional and coordination with any live musicians.

We have the honor of helping many people celebrate. Here are some questions they’ve asked:

 

1. What about gratuity?

Gratuity is solely at your discretion. We won’t display a tip jar, but of course everyone likes to be appreciated. Just as you would tip a server in a restaurant for excellent service, we are always thankful to receive recognition for hard work. 

 

2. Do you require a meal?

We love to eat and appreciate the consideration of being included during your dinner service. 

3. Are you insured?

Yes. We carry a full liability insurance policy that offers protection in the unlikely event of a mishap.  

4. What is your policy on drugs, alcohol and smoking?

First and foremost, we are drug free. Neither of us smoke, and will only enjoy an alcoholic beverage (within reason) if offered.

5. What makes you different?

Being a female owned company, we offer a different perspective than most. Where most deejay companies come to just play music, we are more than just the music. We are invested in the entire event and coordinate with other vendors, work closely to keep a timeline and place our focus on your needs.There have been so many stories of times where we have had to help bustle a dress, locate parents, chase down the best man for his speech, take a group photo, or hold umbrellas to help usher guests out of the rain.

It’s not uncommon for us to step in where needed. DJ Jenny Z once officiated a wedding ceremony for a couple last minute, then deejayed the reception.

We will keep you and your guests entertained, but we also go above and and prove our passion and commitment to excellence. 

Do you perform more than one event in a day?

Unlikely. Your event is our number one priority and we want to maintain our energy and excitement for you and your guests.

How can we fit it all in?

Here would be a very basic suggested timeline for a 5 hour event: 
 
4:00pm ceremony
4:30pm cocktail hour
5:30pm introductions and dinner
6:30pm -9:00pm special dances and events, cake cutting, and dancing! 

Can we use a live performer?

Sounds like a lot of fun! During our final meeting, we can discuss when the best time for this might be in our timeline, and for the day-of we can provide a wireless microphone for your performer if needed. 

What kinds of songs work best and when?

Ultimately, your musically preferences take precedence.

For wedding ceremonies we range from traditional classical through modern string quartet cover songs. We help paint the picture of what you envision your ceremony to be.

Acoustic guitar, Jazz and in some instances even Bluegrass are great suggestions for cocktail hour. Music without words is preferred.

For dinner we typically step it up a notch. An “easy listening” mix of music, something to appeal to different age groups, can range from Jack Johnson to Billy Joel, Norah Jones to Frank Sinatra. Keep in mind, people are filling their bellies with food, and if we want them to dance, the last thing we want to do is put them to sleep with music that is too relaxing.

Our online music planner allows you to pick and choose your favorite dance hits and do not play requests. Please keep in mind we do limit the must have selections so that our dee jays have the ability to “read” the crowd and play the right music at the right time to keep your dance floor hopping.

Can we supply our own music?

You may absolutely submit music for us to use at your wedding. We work off of a laptop, so if you emailing songs in advance would be preferred. Our library is extensive and we are also happy to acquire any song that we may not have. If you are particular about a version of a song, that’s when we would suggest you provide it to us, so that there isn’t a mix up. 

Will I meet my DJ before my event?

Yes. We want you to be comfortable with your dee jay. We offer face-to-face meetings, Skype chats, FaceTime chats, Google Hangouts, conference telephone calls and texting.

Can I pick my own DJ?

Absolutely. If your preferred deejay choice is available on that date, then consider it done.

  • Jenny was the first and only DJ that we met with when looking for a DJ for our wedding. Her laidback yet professional manner let us know that she would be the perfect match for our wedding. She was very thorough in our initial meeting and the meeting prior to our wedding, making sure that she had all details – down to the correct pronunciation of all of the wedding party members. She was also able to work with me on a surprise set of readings for my husband during the ceremony, figuring out the logistics, without giving away the surprise. She also made sure that she found and chose versions of songs for our ceremony that we liked. The reception – people are still talking about how much FUN the reception was. The music never stopped and Jenny chose music that kept people out on the dance floor until the end of the night. I highly recommend Jenny for weddings or any other events that require music services – she is awesome!

  • This was my second wedding and we opted to do things a bit differently than the normal traditional wedding. Not only did Jenny Z’s mobile service listen to what I wanted they offered suggestions. From booking the event, to easy payment options, follow up conversations and the event itself…I found Jenny and DJ Boomer to be professional, flexible and a whole lot of fun. Every detail I asked for was handled even the last minute addition the day of the wedding. DJ Boomer responded immediately and said it was no problem.   • DJ Boomer was amazing! He played all the requests, seamed everything together flawlessly and kept the entire group on the dancefloor and engaged – including being able to have music played from our ethnic background along with modern songs as well. I have absolutely no complaints about this company or the DJ. The price was very reasonable – given that the other DJs we looked into were much more expensive for the same timeframe, details, equipment etc. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a DJ for their event. I really appreciated the time JennyZ (the owner) spent with us going over the timeline and process of events. This really helped outline how things would happen and ironed out small details. This was done via FaceTime so the meeting was at our convenience. Online work sheets and music request bank also extremely helpful. They have a much larger library than the request bank – just add songs into the notes. They even sent copies of songs to make sure it was the right one we were looking for.

  • DJ Boomer was great! We in the bridal party were later to the reception than we expected, but no guests seemed to notice or mind! Boomer managed to shuffle the night so we weren’t over crowded with reception ‘moments’ but we still fit everything in on time, responded to requests from us (bride and groom), the coordinator, and the photographer seamlessly. He always matched the energy of the room, and got everyone to where they needed to be with minimum hassle.

  • We hired Jenny to DJ at our wedding ceremony and reception after meeting her at the Havre de Grace wedding walk. We couldn’t be happier with her. She was a huge help not only getting everyone up and dancing, but was also integral in making the whole event run smoothly. Their online planning tool was easy to use and very helpful in planning, and they were very responsive when we had questions about our wedding reception as we planned. As the event came closer, they had a lot of really fantastic suggestions and ideas for how to make our reception run smoothly, and took all the time necessary to make sure they we were happy with the timeline and plans for the day. They understood a lot of potential issues that may arise at a wedding reception, and came ready to offer multiple solutions. Their ears were open to our ideas, wants, and needs. When the big day arrived, they were exceptionally flexible as photography took a little longer than expected, and our guests had no clue that we were behind on our initial schedule. DJ Boomer even helped out our guests at the reception venue as they figured out where they were supposed to go. He got everyone dancing after dinner- even the non-dancers- and made our dinner and reception lively and fun! The flow from one event to the next was smooth, planned and guided by DJ Boomer, even when we were doing events “on the fly” because of our delay getting into the reception. His friendly, open personality, sense of humor, and professionalism during the day was noticed and commended by many of our guests! He takes great pride in his services, and is very sincere and genuinely interested in making the event perfect for the bride and groom and their family and friends.
